Symbolism
The two bars wavy represent the river Bregalnica. The shore is an association with the name of the river, and the fortress represents the two main historical strongholds over it. Shtip – Astibo and the city of Bargala. The three golden stars are an association of the city of Strumica, that is, its first known historical name Astraion.
