– With great honor and sincere joy, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Municipality of Ohrid, I would like to welcome you at the ceremonial opening of the exhibition “Macedonia in the World of Heraldry”.
This significant event represents a bridge between the past and the present and between the history and the visual identity of our country.
Heraldic coats of arms are not just decorative or formal, they are pride and belonging. They are stories, they tell through symbols and are part of the cultural wealth of every community.
Heraldry is a language of colors and forms, a language that speaks of honor, dignity and tradition. At a time when the question of our national identity is increasingly important topic, this exhibition serves as a reminder of who we are and what we carry with us as ourselves.
We are proud that this event is proof of the continuity of Macedonian statehood and cultural identity, of the values that have been transformed over the centuries into symbols and powerful bearers of national and local identity.
We are honored that Ohrid, as the host, is part of this exhibition with its main symbols, created with professional help and expert support from the Macedonian Heraldic Society.
Dear all, The Municipality of Ohrid has always considered culture its priority. As before, we will continue to support projects that increase the cultural offer of the city and strengthen our self-confidence as a state.
I wish that this exhibition will be an inspiration for young generations, for communities and for all of us, to continue to respect, cherish and promote what makes us Macedonians, Krsteska in her name.
The promoters of the exhibition were academician Ljupčo Kocarev and Stavre Dzikov, and the president of the Macedonian Heraldry Society, Dr. Jovan Jonovski, and the vice president, Ivan Nacevski, who are the authors of the exhibition.
The exhibition display is 35 panels and divided into two parts. In the second part of the exhibition, the emphasis is presented on the major coats of arms in Macedonia, coats of arms of institutions and organizations, municipal coats of arms and personal coats of arms.
